Wear the Care is a sponsored walk event, raising funds for Wakefield families in need of local hospice care. In January 2021 hundreds of Wakefield Hospice supporters knitted scarves. On Valentines Day these were wrapped around Wakefield Hospice to demonstrate the ongoing care given to the charity by our community and to show the care given to local families in need of hospice support. On October 10th you can 'Wear the Care' at the sponsored walks which start and finish at the hospice. You can select one of the handmade scarves to wear on the walk (and keep it following the event!) Registration is just £10 per person and you can choose the 5mile or 10mile route. Dogs are welcome and there is no age limit. Every walker will receive a certificate for taking part and enjoy refreshments (hot drinks and cake!) There is no minimum sponsorship but any contributions will be gratefully received.
